Play Ball! Two Home Games Highlight Canaries Exhibition Schedule

SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Canaries have announced their exhibition schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. The Birds will play a total of six exhibition games, including two at Sioux Falls Stadium prior to the season opener on May 15th in Sioux Falls.

Pre-season play begins on May 5th in Yankton when the Canaries will host Sioux City. On May 6th and 7th the Birds will head north to face Winnipeg for a two game series before returning to South Dakota on May 9th to battle Sioux City in Huron.  The exhibition part of the schedule will close out at the Birdcage on May 11th and 12th with a two-game series against the St. Paul Saints.  First pitch on the 11th is 4:05 PM and the game is free and open to the public. The game on the 12th will begin at 11:05 AM and tickets are just $5 each or free if you are a season ticket holder.

Ticket information for the game in Yankton will be made available in the coming days. Fans interested in traveling to Huron on May 9th should contact Steve Gohn at 605-354-1118. That game will be a benefit for the Huron Community Foundation.

Players report for camp next Thursday, May 1st and the season opener is scheduled for May 15th at Sioux Falls Stadium against Sioux City. Game time is 7:05 PM and tickets are available now through the Canaries box office.
