Post Season Honors Signal Sioux Falls Skyforce Success

Justin Hamilton and DeAndre Liggins gain more respect for their performance as members of the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season.  Both earned 2014 All-NBA Development League status in a release announced Thursday. 

Hamilton, a center who finished his college career at Louisiana State University made the first team courtesy of 19.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2 blocks per game over 39 contests.  The seven-footer was called up first to Charlotte for 10 days, then signed for the balance of the season by the Miami Heat.  Hamilton was also a member of the All-Defensive First Team after being allocated to the Skyforce after attending Miami Heat training camp.

Liggins, who had been with the Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder in the previous two seasons, landed on the second team.  The Kentucky guard was also bestowed with the Defensive Player of the Year award and a slot on the NBADL All-Defensive team for the recently completed season.  Liggins scored 14.2 points grabbed 7.1 rebounds with 4.8 assists and led the league with 2.6 steals per game as the seventh player chosen in the 2013 NBADL Draft by the Skyforce.

Additionally, Skyforce forward Alex Oriakhi played his way onto the NBADL All-Rookie First Team.  The 6-9 forward/center out of Missouri was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the NBA draft, but signed a contract to play overseas instead of reporting to camp.  Erie claimed him in mid-December, then traded him to Sioux Falls in February.
