Last weekend, Rapid City native Wil Collins shot a 21-under-par 267 to win the Dakota Dunes Open presented by SaskTel in Saskatchewan. Collins shot a 6-under-par 66 in the final round to defeat Nick Taylor, Ryan Yip, and John Ellis by one stroke.

Collins earned $27,000 by winning the PGA Canada event.

Collins has been playing on the tour since 2006.

Collins is a Rapid City Stevens' graduate and won three state titles (1993, 1994, and 1996). Collins is also a five-time SDGA champion, winning the Junior three times along with the 1999 Two-Man and the 2001 Match Play.

In other South Dakota golf news, Will Grevlos of Sioux Falls set an all-time scoring record for the SDGA junior tour by shooting an 8-under-par 64 to win the 12-13 age division on Monday at Spring Creek Country Club. Grevlos held the previous record of 6-under par, set last year.
