In case you had forgotten, 12 years ago the worst brawl in NBA history happen in The Palace of Auburn Hills and it wasn't just between a couple of players either. With just under a minute left in the game Indiana's Ron Artest had a hard foul on Detroit's Ben Wallace.

Wallace returned the favor with a double punch/push to the upper chest region of Artest and the rest is history as "The Malice at the Palace."

After it was all said and done, nine players served a total of 146 games and lost nearly $11 million dollars of salaries. Also five players were charged with assault and put on a year of probation.

Whether or not you think Wallace overreacted to the foul, the Detroit fan base threw gasoline on the fire when Artest got hit with the cup of beer. This game led to an increase in the amount of security between the fans and the players during games.
