KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Kansas City Royals have recalled right-hander Jeremy Jeffress from Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

The 24-year-old Jeffress made eight relief appearances over two previous stints this season with the Royals, yielding two unearned runs and eight hits in 6 2-3 innings.

Kansas City hosted Texas on Tuesday night.

Jeffress is one of four players acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in the Zack Greinke trade in 2010. He spent most of this season with Triple-A Omaha, where he was 5-4 with a 4.97 ERA and two saves in 37 relief appearances.
