South Dakota State football couldn't have ended the regular season on more of a disappointing note than losing to their rival USD but the news they got on Sunday might change their line of thinking.

On Sunday, SDSU landed the 7 seed in the FCS Playoffs.

The FCS Playoff Committee rewarded SDSU for an extremely tough schedule including the gauntlet of the MVC and their narrow road loss to FBS Top 10 team Minnesota.

SDSU ended the season with an 8-4 record and will get a first-round bye and will host their opening game at Dana J Dykehouse Stadium on December 7 at 1 PM.

The Jacks will face off against the winner of the San Diego and Northern Iowa game this week.

SDSU head football coach John Stiegelmeier is imploring the fans to show up saying "I expect to see 15,000" at the game.
