South Dakota State extended its school record and Summit League record home winning streak to 29 consecutive games, but more importantly, moved back into sole possession of second place with an 82-45 win over last place IUPUI Thursday night in Brookings.

The Jacks sank seven of their first 11 three point shots in the first half, opening up a 20-point halftime cushion at 41-21.  Nate Wolters and Chad White provided half of the scoring punch in the first 20 minutes, Wolters with 12 points, White with nine on three three-pointers. Wolters finished the game with 18, White with 14.

After allowing some easy looks early, the SDSU defense settled in and limited the Jaguars to just 36 percent shooting for the game, as IUPUI lost its 11th straight.

After slumping last weekend with just seven points in two games, Jordan Dykstra responded with a double-double for South Dakota State, 14 points and 15 rebounds.  This season when Dykstra scores in double digits, SDSU is 16-2.

The Jacks also knocked down 11 three-pointers in the game.

With the victory, and Western Illinois' 49-36 win at North Dakota State,  South Dakota State stays a half-game behind the Leathernecks atop the Summit League standings, with Western Illinois making a visit to Frost Arena Saturday afternoon.
