South Dakota State head volleyball coach, Nicole Cirillo has submitted her resignation.

SDSU Athletic Director Justin Sell announced on Tuesday that Cirillo had stepped down.

Sell also released a statement saying "I thank Nicole for her efforts over these last five years and wish her nothing but the best in the future".

This doesn't come as a big surprise considering the lack of success at times for the SDSU volleyball team especially in a region that has seen a ton of volleyball talent and success at not only the DI level but all levels below it as well.

According to the South Dakota State Athletic Department, a national search will begin immediately.
