This isn't just the "play of the day" when it comes to South Dakota basketball. This might easily be considered the "play of the year" with part of the season remaining.

Playing on the road against Western Christian in front of a packed crowd in Hull, Iowa, the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers gave up a basket with the clock on the verge of hitting zero in the fourth quarter. That would tie the game at 58. What would happen next was magical and one of those reminders of why we love sports.

Needing to move quick, Chad Barkema threw the basketball, like a football, down the floor for Keegan Van Egdom. Van Egdom managed to, while in mid air and in stride, get a nice shot to gracefully hit off the backboard and bank in at the buzzer. This all happened within a couple of seconds.

A longer version of the end of the game has been released on the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers HUDL page.

Sioux Falls Christian would win the game 60-58 and improve to 13-3 on the season. They are ranked 2nd overall in Class A by the South Dakota Sportswriters.
