SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - San Jose Sharks forward Adam Burish will miss the second round of the playoffs with an upper-body injury.

The team announced the injury on Thursday as players assembled for the first time since sweeping Vancouver in the first round.

Burish did not return in Game 4 on Tuesday night after being slashed by Vancouver's Alexander Edler late in the second period. Burish's right hand was wrapped in the dressing room after the game.

Burish had one goal and two assists in the regular season, playing mostly on the fourth line. But he also made key contributions as one of the team's more physical players, a reliable penalty killer and a strong locker room influence.
