A 42-year-old man was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital for treatment after two people reportedly attacked him Tuesday night.

Police Officer Sam Clemens says the man had been walking with his sister, but they separated as she went into a store at 8th and Spring around 9:15 PM. He says the woman heard her brother yelling for her, and police later learned the man had been approached by a man and woman he knows.

The man punched the victim in the face and then held him down while the woman also punched him.

Clemens says the man had several deep cuts to his face, but there was no word on whether he was kept at the hospital.

The victim knows both suspects, and they are still being sought.
