Police say a drug case is related to one Sunday night on Sioux Falls' east side that involved more than three pounds of marijuana.

Officer Sam Clemens says a search of a home in the 700 block of North Menlo Avenue Tuesday afternoon turned up more than a pound of synthetic marijuana and nearly $12,000 in cash.

He says the search was tied to the arrest of a man in a traffic stop around 6pm Sunday at Second and Sherman.

In that arrest, police stopped a man who had a revoked driver's license, and a search of his vehicle turned up nearly three pounds of marijuana.

Clemens says 23-year-old Ervins Diaz-Herrera of Sioux Falls is charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.

He says other arrests are expected in connection with the seizure of cash and synthetic marijuana from the home on North Menlo Avenue.

Clemens also says the case is related to the arrest of a man Sunday night who crashed a car into a house and tossed a backpack with three pounds of pot in it as he was being pursued by police.
