The Sioux Falls Storm is excited to announce the signing of two explosive running backs, Ranier Rackley and Tyler Batts.

Ranier Rackley (6’0”, 200lbs) was a highly sought after running back in high school and while attending Georgia Military College, gathering interest from schools such as UCLA, Cal, USC and others. Due to personal family issues, Rackley was unable to transfer to those schools and ended up at Elizabeth City State University. Even though Ranier saw limited touches his senior year, he still amassed a dominant 5.7 yards per carry and showed impressive speed. Rackley has been patiently waiting for his chance to play and will no doubt be an explosive back for the Storm. Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs said this in regards to Rackley, “Ranier carries a unique story, but it’s what we saw on his film that excited us. We look forward to seeing what he can do in camp competing against the other backs.”

Tyler Batts (5’9, 170lbs) will also join the Storm at the running back position. Batts was originally a two-sport athlete while attending the Community College of Beaver County. In 2009, Batts transferred to Gannon University where he burst onto the football scene playing in every game and amassing 1,061 all-purpose yards. After graduating, Batts continued his football career playing for teams in the IFL and the UIFL. Batts has played for the Cedar Rapid Titans, and most recently the Lakeland Raiders.  “Tyler is a versatile player that brings value when you have a roster of 20. He can play receiver, running back and add to special teams,” stated Riggs.
