South Dakota State placed six players on the 24-man Capital One Academic All-District 6 team in Division I.

The six Jackrabbits are part of 17 Missouri Valley Conference players on the honor squads in District 5 (IL, IN, OH, MI) and District 6 (SD, ND, MN, IA, AR, LA, MO, MS, WI) which were selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The SDSU players (with their grade point averages and majors) are:

DL - Cole Langer (3.78, Mechanical Engineering)
DB - Nick Mears (4.0, Economics)
OL- Nick Purcell (4.0, Biology/Pre-Med)
K - Ethan Sawyer (3.88, Biology/Pre-Med)
WR - Jason Schneider (3.98, Pharmacy)
RB - Zach Zenner (3.87, Biology/Pre-Med)

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work.

Student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their current institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.

The University of South Dakota did not place any players on the team.
