South Dakota Amateur Baseball Season Underway

For some towns the biggest events of the summer are the days of going to the ballpark to watch friends and family play baseball. Welcome to the world of amateur baseball.

Since coming back to Sioux Falls from college, I have found myself taking in more amateur baseball games around the area. Sure, this isn't a collection of guys that are trying to go pro. What it is though is a gathering of people who enjoy the game and play it for the love of the game.

Teams like Lennox, Dell Rapids, Colman, Aberdeen, Redfield, Mitchell, Parkston, Vermillion, Renner, and Canton (to name just a small few) get games scheduled and people together for a full summer experience. Chances are that a team is located near your city.

Head on out to the ballpark and take in a few games this season. I find it to be a relaxing way to enjoy a beautiful night. Most teams have Facebook pages or Twitter accounts to track down schedules and more information.
