South Dakota Mr. and Miss Basketball Named

SIOUX FALLS - Zach Hanson of Pierre and Kerri Young of Mitchell have been voted by coaches as this year's Mr. and Miss Basketball in South Dakota.

The 6-foot-9 Hanson averaged 20 points and nearly nine rebounds per game this past season and helped Pierre to a state championship. He plans to play college basketball for Creighton.

The 6-foot Young helped Mitchell to a state runner-up finish, averaging about 16 points and six rebounds per game. She is the Mitchell program's all-time leading scorer. She plans to play at South Dakota State.
