NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A week after Tyrann Mathieu's dismissal from the LSU football program, a New Orleans TV station is reporting that the former Tigers cornerback is in a drug rehabilitation program in Houston and being counseled by former NBA player John Lucas. Fox 8 cites Mathieu's adoptive father as the source for the information.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - David Price is the first 16-game winner in the major leagues. Tampa Bay's ace lefty allowed three hits over seven innings of the Rays' 7-0 shutout of the L.A. Angels, improving to 16-4 and lowering his ERA to 2.39.

DENVER (AP) - Major League Baseball owners have approved the sale of the San Diego Padres to a group that includes pro golfer Phil Mickelson. The group will pay around $800 million for the NL franchise, with the final closing expected before the end of this month.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Carl Pettersson was the leader by one stroke over Tim Clark and David Mathis when round two of the Wyndham Championship got under way this morning in Greensboro.  Pettersson's 8-under-par 62 yesterday is the best opening round of his career.
