Sports often go through spurts of change or expansion, but there is one constant: the ever-rising cost of a ticket.

ESPN recently reported that the New York Jets and New England Patriots have the highest ticket prices in the NFL. Both teams have pretty large fan bases, but with fees climbing steadily higher, will fans still come in the same numbers?

It's not just football that has a high cost-of-entry. Baseball, basketball and hockey also reach deep into fans' pockets before they pass through the turnstiles. And once inside, the hot dogs and beer aren't exactly cheap either, not to mention parking, souvenirs and everything else. Is it all even worth it anymore?
