Ever since Disney announced that 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' would close down production in favor of the new series 'Star Wars Rebels,' which is set in between the original trilogies, we've been more impatient than Luke Skywalker for a look. Now it seems we may only need to wait until next week, as the first teaser of 'Star Wars Rebels' has been scheduled to air.

Via ComingSoon, the first official teaser for 'Star Wars Rebels' should hit the airwaves this coming Monday during the premiere of "Mighty Med" on Disney XD. The new series airs at 8:30 P.M. ET/PT, though the 'Star Wars Rebels' teaser should be available online shortly thereafter.

So far, we know that ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will take place “in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape,” and have glimpsed concept art of a new Millenium Falcon-esque starship that will serve as a central location. No voice cast has been made official, though we recently heard Freddie Prinze Jr., ‘The Butler’ star David Oyelowo, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum were on the short list.

Picking up where the now-canceled ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ left off, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will feature on the creative side screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg (‘X-Men: First Class,’ ‘Elysium‘), who’s writing the first episode, as well as ‘Clone Wars’ supervising director Dave Filoni and ‘Young Justice’ producer Greg Weisman.

We'll check back in Monday for the 'Star Wars Rebels' teaser, but check out the original announcement video below, and tell us what you want to see from the 2014 series in the comments!
