The Summit League regular season came to an end Saturday and the remaining questions about seeding positions for the men's and women's tournaments in Sioux Falls have been answered.

For the men, South Dakota State is the #1 seed for the first time.  The Jackrabbits finished the conference season 13-3, tied with Western Illinois for the Summit League crown, but thanks to a season sweep of the Leathernecks, the Jacks get top billing in Sioux Falls.

SDSU will open with IUPUI (1-15) Saturday night at 6:00.  The Jacks beat the Jaguars twice during the regular season, 80-65 and 82-45.

As the #2 seed, Western Illinois gets the late game Saturday night at 8:30.  The Leathernecks will get South Dakota.  The Coyotes (5-11) are making their first ever appearance in the Summit League Tournament, after finishing tied with Kansas City for sixth place, but because the 'Roos swept USD during the regular season, the Coyotes to the #7 seed.

Saturday's game will be a rematch of the regular season finale, which was won by Western Illinois 61-59.  The Leathernecks also won by two when the two teams met in Vermillion back in November.

The other first round matchups:

#4 Oakland and #5 Fort Wayne, Sunday at 6:00pm, and #3 North Dakota State and #6 Kansas City, Sunday at 8:30pm.

For the women, South Dakota State (12-2) is the #1 seed for the fourth time in six years.  The Jackrabbits open the tournament at noon Saturday with #8 Oakland (3-13).  SDSU won both meetings with the Golden Grizzlies this season, 64-43 and 83-48.

South Dakota (10-6) is the #3 seed in its first year of eligibility in the Summit League Tournament.  The Coyotes play #6 North Dakota State (6-10) at 2:30pm Sunday in Sioux Falls.  Each team won on the others home floor this season, USD winning in Fargo 73-52, NDSU in Vermillion 57-50.

The other first round matchups:

#4 Fort Wanye and #5 Western Illinois, Sunday at noon, and #2 IUPUI and #7 Kansas City, Saturday at 2:30pm.
