Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference

Augustana placed five players on the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference baseball teams, including Player of the Year Tony Viger. Henry Ojeda of the University of Sioux Falls is the first Cougar to earn post season baseball honors from the NSIC.

Augustana shot a 309 on Monday to move up three spots and into second place at the NCAA Division II Central Region Golf Championships. The Vikings' Allie Ostrander is tied for second place overall while Tavia Rutherford of the University of Sioux Falls jumped into a tie for eighth.

Golfers from Augustana and the University of Sioux Falls were named All-NSIC First Team by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Monday. Vikings coach Peggy Kirby earned coach of the year honors for the fifth straight season.

Augustana shot a 20-over-par 308 and is in fifth place after the first round of play at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships at Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn. Maggie Leland and Allie Ostrander are tied for fifth in the individual standings with Tavia Rutherford of the University of Sioux Falls 19th after the first round.

FIve players from Augustana and four from the University of Sioux Falls have earned all-conference honors from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Augustana women's golf team has earned the No. 3 seed for the Central Region Championships the NCAA announced on Monday. Tavia Rutherford of the University of Sioux Falls has also been selected to compete in the individual competition.

Augustana captured it's fifth straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's golf championship on Sunday, easily outdistancing runner-up Concordia-St. Paul. Viking senior Maggie Leland won her second individual conference title by two strokes over teammate Marisa Toivonen.

Augustana has a nine stroke lead after the third round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Golf Championships. The Vikings' Maggie Leland tops the individual leaderboard by five strokes with a three round total of 235.

Augustana bounced back on Saturday, earning a split with Wayne State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader. The Vikings dropped the opener 5-3, but picked up the split with a 5-4 victory in the nightcap.

Augustana is ranked third in the first edition of the NCAA Central Region softball rankings. The Vikings dropped four spots in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 national poll.
