For Pedro Hernandez, a big grin said it all. The left-hander pitched five shutout innings for his first major league win, Josh Willingham homered and the Minnesota Twins beat the Texas Rangers 7-2 Saturday to end a three-game slide.
Pierzynski to Rangers
The Texas Rangers have finalized a one-year deal with free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski. Manager Ron Washington says Pierzynski will be the primary catcher, pushing Geovany Soto to the backup role after he re-signed as a free agent.
Angel in the Outfield
According to sources, free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton agreed Thursday to a contract with the Los Angeles Angels.
The contract is being reported as a five year deal that will land Hamilton in LA.
