The Sioux Falls Stampede were hoping to pick up where they left off before the Christmas break, but the Tri-City Storm had other ideas and spoiled the Herd’s return to action, handing the Stampede a 3-1 setback Saturday night in Kearney.

The Sioux Falls Stampede showed no fatigue from a twelve-round shootout loss the night before as they routed the Tri-City Storm 6-0 Saturday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Chad Duchesne scored two goals, C.J. Franklin added a goal and two assists and David Jacobson earned his first career USHL shutout with 18 saves for the Herd.

C.J. Franklin’s shorthanded goal in the second period and Ryan Siiro’s hat trick lifted the Sioux Falls Stampede to a 6-3 victory at Tri-City on Saturday night. The win clinches home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs for the Stampede.
