Special teams were the difference in a tight game Friday night at Young Arena. Waterloo scored two power play goals in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and topped the Sioux Falls Stampede 4-2.

A rough second period featuring three straight goals enabled the Waterloo Black Hawks to control the Sioux Falls Stampede as they won 6-2 before a sellout crowd at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Payback was on the on the minds of the Waterloo Black Hawks as they avenged a lopsided 8-3 loss to the Sioux Falls Stampede on Jan. 9 with a 7-1 victory at the Arena Friday night.

The Sioux Falls Stampede put together a solid effort Friday night, but much like the first game at Young Arena, the Herd came up short. The Stampede couldn’t solve Black Hawks goaltender Eamon McAdam and saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 loss at Young Arena.

The Waterloo Black Hawks scored six unanswered goals in the game's final 25 minutes to score an 8-4 come from behind victory over the Sioux Falls Stampede Saturday night.
