Watch Spotlight Fall on Wrestler During Match in South Dakota

Every athlete enjoys the "spotlight" on them when they are competing and the more the spotlight is on them, it usually means that they are continuing to shine on the field of play.

This instance of the "spotlight" being on the athlete takes on a different form.

For this week's Throwback Thursday video, we have found the clip of an actual spotlight falling form the ceiling on a wrestler while they are on the mat.

At the time, Madison High School senior Michael McCornish had a spotlight fall from the rafters and land on him during competition.

It could of turned out horrible with major injuries, but Michael escaped with only a few minor cuts and injuries from the incident.

According to multiple reports, the rope that was holding the light broke, causing it to fall.
