The Detroit Lions had three opportunities yesterday to defeat the Buffalo Bills. Field Goal opportunities from Alex Henery of 44, 47, and 50 yards essentially cost the Lions the victory.

Now the former Nebraska Cornhusker is on the open market. The Detroit Lions made it official today that Henery has been released. Henery went 1-5 for the Lions this season in field goals, and his lone connection was from 51 yards.

The Lions are now in search for a new kicker. Somewhere Matt Prater is out there. Another option the Lions would have is former Arizona Cardinal Jay Feely.

If all else fails, Detroit can just pull a Vikings-Favre situation and call up Jason Hanson. Even he can help.
