Timberwolves Host Hardaway Jr., Caldwell-Pope

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Timberwolves President Flip Saunders says shooting guard is the deepest position at this year's NBA draft. That's a very good thing for his team.

The Timberwolves hosted several draft prospects for a group workout on Thursday, including shooting guards Tim Hardaway Jr. of Michigan, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope of Georgia and Ricky Ledo of Providence.

The Wolves hold the ninth and 26th picks in the first round in next month's draft. They desperately need a shooting guard with some size to pair alongside point guard Ricky Rubio in the backcourt. Last season injuries forced coach Rick Adelman to play undersized Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea at shooting guard.

Hardaway, Caldwell-Pope and Ledo are all 6-foot-5 or taller.

Cal's Allen Crabbe, Villanova's Mouphtaou Yarou and Creighton's Gregory Echenique also worked out.
