Local Sioux Falls law enforcement is trading in their handcuffs and badges to serve a different cause, raising funds for Special Olympics South Dakota.

Today, December 18 and tomorrow the 19th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Texas Roadhouse in Sioux Falls will be hosting ‘Tip A Cop’. All proceeds raised will go to benefit Special Olympics South Dakota.

‘Tip A Cop’ is an annual fundraiser in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and consists of law enforcement donating their time at participating restaurants to assist staff with serving guests.

All “special” tips and donations received from the event will go directly to the 2,500 athletes and 26 sports programs supported by Special Olympics South Dakota.

Darryl Nordquist, CEO of Special Olympics South Dakota says, “‘Tip A Cop’ is a great event that gives our incredible law enforcement volunteers a unique opportunity to take on a new role while partnering with Special Olympics South Dakota. We are so grateful that Texas Roadhouse is once again giving us the chance to team up Special Olympics athletes and local law enforcement to help spread the Special Olympics message of inclusion and acceptance.”
