MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have activated third baseman Trevor Plouffe from the seven-day disabled list.

Plouffe suffered a concussion May 21 against Atlanta. He was struck in the head by Braves infielder Dan Uggla's shin while trying to break up a double play. He quickly passed the concussion tests required by Major League Baseball for reinstatement, and the Twins made the move Wednesday.

Plouffe is hitting .254 with four homers and 17 RBIs this season. He is coming back in time to play in June, the month in which he hit 11 homers last season to kick off a breakout year.

The Twins optioned outfielder Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester to make room for Plouffe. Colabello was just 1 for 11 in five games.
