The South Dakota women's basketball team used a big second half and stifling defense to complete a season sweep of the number two team in the Summit League, Thursday night, beating IUPUI 56-39 at the DakotaDome.

Tempestt Wilson scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the second 20 minutes, as the Coyotes broke the game open with a 15-0 run to take over sole possession of third place in the conference with two games left.

USD outscored IUPUI 36-19 in the second half, shooting 56 percent from the floor.  Those numbers were a stark contrast to what the Coyotes managed in the first half, when they shot just 29 percent and went 10:40 during one stretch without a field goal.

The South Dakota defense kept them in the game despite the offensive drought early, limiting the Jaguars to just 27 percent shooting in the first half, and an ice cold 15 percent (5-of-34) in the second.

Polly Harrington added a double-double for USD with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Coyotes move to 8-6 in conference play, with games against Western Illinois Saturday in Vermillion and at Omaha next Thursday to finish out the regular season.
