Last week the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University both were excited about their trip to the postseason but this week both will be feeling the same levels of disappointment as they saw their seasons end on Saturday.

USF fell to the Colorado School of Mines and Augustana lost to CSU-Pueblo.

Augie trailed 3-0 at half and had chances to make it a game, but couldn't muster up the big plays when needed and would lose 17-0.

A couple of costly penalties including one on a touchdown that would negate the score doomed Augie on Saturday.

They end their season with a 9-3 record and a lot of optimism heading into the offseason where they will look to build on their 2019 season.

USF also was in a tight game from the start against CSM.

The Cougars actually held a 21-14 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but 10 unanswered points in the final frame helped eliminate USF from the playoffs.

The resiliency of both the offense and defense for USF will be a memory I have about this 2019 edition.
