SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Winnipeg Goldeyes have sent Brandon native Jack Van Leur back to the Sioux Fall Pheasants as his own player to be named later, completing the late-season trade between the two clubs.

Van Leur, a left-handed relief pitcher, departed for Winnipeg in mid-August after posting 39 appearances, a 3-1 record and a 3.78 ERA with Sioux Falls. He issued seven walks and 23 strikeouts. He was particularly adept at retiring left-handed hitters, who batted just .154 with just two extra-base hits against him.

With the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Van Leur went 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 12 appearances in the regular season, and he helped the Goldeyes win the 2012 American Association championship.
