THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Veteran linebacker Junior Galette will visit the Los Angeles Rams this week.

Galette will arrive Sunday night for a workout Monday with the Rams, coach Sean McVay confirmed.

McVay says "there's a good possibility" the Rams will sign Galette if the workout goes well.

Los Angeles could use another edge rusher and outside linebacker, with Samson Ebukam and Matt Longacre currently expected to start at the position in coordinator Wade Phillips' scheme.

The 30-year-old Galette spent the past three years with Washington but missed the 2015 and 2016 seasons due to torn Achilles tendons. He had three sacks last year while playing in all 16 games as a pass-rush specialist.

McVay was an assistant in Washington in 2015 and 2016, as was Rams linebackers coach Joe Barry.

Galette has 34 1/2 career sacks with New Orleans and Washington, but he also has been in trouble off the field. He was suspended for two games in 2015 for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy in an alleged domestic dispute, and he was arrested last year in Mississippi after a conflict outside a spring break event at a baseball park.
