One of the best hitters in the Major League's over the last decade may be hanging up the cleats at the end of the 2018 season.

Detroit Tigers DH Victor Martinez said after Wednesday's loss that he is seriously considering retirement after this year.

According to CBS Sports, Martinez told reporters "I'm pretty sure this is going to be it, like I said, I'm just enjoying these last six weeks and finally go home.

Over his career, Martinez has played in 1,946 games, tallied 2,126 hits, batted .295, knocked in 1,163 RBI's all while mashing 243 home runs.

Detroit has been out of the playoff hunt for a while, yet Tigers fans still come to the ball park with the chance to get to see a great hitter in potentially his finals days as a MLB'er.
