The Minnesota Vikings moved on step closer to the playoffs today on the road against the Houston Texans.

The Vikings rolled past the Texans with a 23-6 victory on Sunday.

They did so behind a consistent performance from the offense, defense and special teams.

Adrian Peterson did not get to the 100yd mark nor did he find the end-zone. He did however get 86 yards closer to setting a NFL record for rushing yards in a season.

Christian Ponder did not throw a interception either and got the Vikings into the end-zone with one TD pass.

Coming off the NFC Special Teams player of the week award, kicker Blair Walsh put in three field goals including a 56 yard field goal in the 2nd quarter.

In addition, the Minnesota Vikings defense stepped it up, only allowing six points from a Texans offense who has been putting up good numbers all year long.

Looking forward, the Vikings will have a chance to solidify their playoff chances with a game against their division rival Green Bay Packers at the Metrodome next Sunday.
