Viking Arrested on Suspicion of DWI
Minnesota Viking's Jerome Simpson was being held Saturday without bail at the Hennepin County jail, according to the online roster. He was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol and booked at 5:39 a.m. on suspicion of DWI.
Jail records show he was released at 12:52 p.m., after spending a little more than seven hours behind bars.
The Viking's organization will comment further "at the appropriate time" and are "continuing to gather information," according to the Associated Press.
Simpson is no stranger to trouble with the law in his football career. AHe began his first three seasons of professional football with the Cincinnati Bengals. There, he spent 15 day in jail on a marijuana charge. The NFL suspended him for three games for that conviction.
Jerome leads the Viking with receiving yards with 491 on the season.
The Viking beat the Redskins on Thursday night so they have the weekend off.
