CROOKSTON, MN -- Augustana soccer remains undefeated after a 0-0 tie at Minnesota, Crookston Saturday afternoon.  The Vikings out-shot the Golden Eagles 19-5 but couldn't find the back of the net and move to 4-2-1, 3-0-1 NSIC and the Golden Eagles improve to 0-6-1, 0-3-1 in NSIC competition.

From the start, Augustana was on the offensive, but couldn't get on the board with a goal.  Kara Bartels, Jessie Huff, Aleisha Oehlerking, and Sheila Grogan all recorded shots on goal in the first 20 minutes but couldn't get one past the Golden Eagle keeper.  The Vikings fired off the nine shots in the first half but the score remained deadlocked at 0-0.

The Augustana defense held the Minnesota, Crookston offense to only one shot on goal and five shots throughout 110 minutes.

The second half was less active on the offensive end and Augustana couldn't muster a shot on goal in the period.

In overtime, Augustana came out with two shots on goal in the first period of extra time, but the Crookston keeper corralled them both and neither team could find the net in the second overtime.

Ellie Westemeyer and Oehlerking each managed four shots and two on goal.  Westemeyer played all 110 minutes along with her defensive teammates, Maria Cook, Liz Bunkers, and Maren Werth,

Amanda Wagner recorded her second shutout of the season and 10th of her career which puts her first in the Augustana record books.

The Vikings take to the pitch again Sunday afternoon at Bemidji State at 1 p.m.
