SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Augustana ended a defensive struggle with Minnesota Duluth in a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of play.  The Vikings record now sits at 4-3-2, 3-1-2 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Competition and the Bulldogs now sit at 4-3-1, 2-3-1 in the NSIC.

The first half could best be described as a defensive struggle with Minnesota Duluth registering the only shot on goal in the entire period.  Midfielder Kara Bartels took Augustana's only shot, but even that was blocked by a defender.

The Vikings struck first with a goal in the 51st minute when Kara Bartels received a long pass that deflected off a Bulldog defender and beat the goalie to put Augustana up 1-0.

Minnesota Duluth answered in the 75th minute with a goal off of a save by goalkeeper Amanda Wagner.

Bartels led the offense with three shots and Aleisha Oehlerking chipped in with two, but they weren't enough to break the tie as the game finished in a 1-1 tie.

Amanda Wagner finished with six saves on the day.

The Vikings return to the pitch tomorrow to face St. Cloud State at 1 p.m.
