The answer apparently as easy as it seemed after the Patriots lost in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brady is undecided and has not committed to playing in 2018.

This isn't new from a historical standpoint with greats of the past regardless of the sport, from Brett Favre to Michael Jordan and many others.

This is however unique to the Patriots who pride themselves on consistency and control and right now the most important players future is out of their control.

Furthermore, the Patriots have had unique offseason for them, with the departures of key players, a perceived ongoing rift between Rob Gronkowski and the team along with a ongoing battle about whether or not players including Brady should be using a outside trainer.

Time will tell if Brady is back in 2018, but this could be the biggest story in all of sports if he decides to hang up the cleats.
