Maya Moore has had a hall of fame career on the court, but off the court is where she will stay in 2021.

The WNBA star announced Wednesday that she would be forgoing the 2021 WNBA season.


She hasn't played since 2018 for the Minnesota Lynx and stepped away from the game because she wanted to pursue "ministry dreams that have been stirring in my heart for many years."

Moore would go on to help free Jonathan Irons from prison after he was wrongfully convicted in 1998 and had been serving his sentence since.

During that process, she and Irons fell in love and Moore would marry him after his release in 2020.

In her illustrious career, Moore has captured four WNBA Championships and was a part of the greatness at UCONN during her college career.
