Congratulations is in order for Aberdeen Central girls basketball coach Dawn Seiler who has been named to the McDonald's All-American coaching staff.

Aberdeen Central High School has been hit hard by the flu.  Even members of the girls and boys basketball teams are affected.

Aberdeen Central took the team title at the inaugural Sanford Pentagon Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. The Golden Eagles compiled 233 points to easily outdistance second place Sioux Falls Roosevelt with 180 points.

Theresa Pujado scored two first-half goals to lead Sioux Falls O'Gorman past Aberdeen Central 2-0 Friday to win the South Dakota Girls State Soccer Championship.

Tea Area defeated Aberdeen Central 2-1 Friday to win the South Dakota Boys State Soccer Championship.

Sioux Falls O'Gorman will face Aberdeen Central for the girls championship while Tea Area will take on the Golden Eagles for the boys title Friday at the South Dakota state high school soccer tournament in Aberdeen.

Washington, Lincoln, Mitchell and No. 1 seed Aberdeen Central advance to the semifinals
