It appeared that Northern State had a game won in the last few seconds, but Minnesota State Moorhead made an early season "play of the year" to change that.

The Augustana Vikings gave Jerry Olszewski a win in his first game as head coach. The Vikings raced out to a 41-7 halftime lead, then held off Minnesota State-Moorhead 41-28 in the season opener for both teams at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.

The University of Sioux Falls women's soccer team fell to Minnesota State University-Moorhead, 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Sioux Falls. Two MSUM goals in the first 15 minutes of the game proved to be the final score.
