NBA Development League

A healthy relationship from long distance was the difference in a 138-126 Sioux Falls Skyforce win over the Texas Legends on Saturday night from The Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.

Making up 11 points in less than 3 minutes is a lot to ask and the Skyforce were nearly up to the task.  Nonetheless the Los Angeles D-Fenders held off Sioux Falls 122-120 at the Toyota Sports Center Thursday night.

The Miami Heat announced today in a press release that they have assigned both guard Shabazz Napier and center Hassan Whiteside to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

It seems the new NBA Development League rules are being tested early this season when it comes to players assigned by NBA parent clubs.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants used an infusion of new talent to swarm the Sioux Falls Skyforce 111-93 Saturday night at the Sanford Pentagon.

Even though the Sanford Pentagon is in its second year of hosting the NBA Development League, a fair amount of drama has taken place over the previous 25 games.  Friday night’s Sioux Falls Skyforce 99-98 win over the Maine Red Claws ranks near the top for clutch performances on both sides.

In the end it was bittersweet for both teams as Sioux Falls and Fort Wayne played game one of the new NBA Development League season.  Victory came to the Skyforce in the form of a 77-70 rumble in front of 5,129 gathered at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night.

A whirlwind camp leaves the Sioux Falls Skyforce with all slots filled as the season begins this weekend.
